Haiku My Heart - Hello, October

Clear, turquoise skies and warm breezes have blessed our little corner these past few days.  Temperatures have been closer to the norm for this time of year, after erratically jumping up and down the thermometer for a couple of weeks. Summer has to have her last hurrah and I am more than happy to oblige her.

There will be frost on the pumpkins in the blink of an eye, so I'm enjoying these balmy days with windows wide open - an invitation to those gracefully twirling wind sprites.

For more Haiku My Heart Friday goodies, Rebecca has what you need right here.

Peace to your soul.

  1. Mmmm, this is a dreamy photo and haiku. Lovely.

  2. It is a beautiful cloud-sprinkled blue piece of summer in the midst of fall and your haiku is just lovely. Thank you Deb! I was trying to publish your comment and I accidentally hit delete. If you have the time and energy, would you send it again? If not, no worries. Have a great day!

  3. Nice post. Thanks.

    All the best, Boonie

  4. Yes, you get it. The change in seasons and all it can bring into our lives, enjoying every minute of it no matter the details. Awesome stuff from an awesome human being.

  5. I hate to have summer leave and autumn blow in. Time to start layering.

  6. wow wonderful haiku to go with your fabulous photo, I am so pleased that I am starting my day with both of these as it's a very cloudy cool day here.

  7. I enjoyed this haiku to "summer's last breath."

  8. beautiful way to say it! i'm trying to enjoy every last bit of it too!

  9. this is pure
    in word and image.
oh how autumn leans in closer....yet i am still holding summers hand!

thanks for being here, i am so glad you are.

  10. Hiya Deb,

My goodness, you have a way with words.
Both in the Haiku and your prose.
And those clouds are the most cotton-woolly I have ever noticed.

  11. so sorry to say good bye to summer :(
    but wow what a send-off :)

  12. the changes in seasons are so subtle the cool air, turning leaves... yes, it is wonderful to enjoy this last hurrah of sunshine before the fall of snow...

  13. Well Deb, I was blessed by your haiku and pretty picture. Already had our first frost two nites ago here in Ukraine. All houseplants now inside. Still putting the garden to bed for the winter tho.

  14. Thank you so much, to each of you, for your gracious comments. The skies are still bluer than blue, here - just gorgeous. Warm, sunny days, crisp nights. Perfect fall weather.

Hope you are all enjoying the same. Here we're planning a 3-yr-old's Halloween costume and a trip to the apple orchard very soon.

    Autumnal blessings~
