November Is Art Every Day Month

Rustic Layered Hanging Star

While some of my friends dive into November with the brutal NaNoWriMo challenge, I came across this instead. I tried NanoWrimo once and produced about 10,000 words of utter garbage. ;) The goal being 50,000 words of hopefully at least salvageable writing, I wasn't even close for an entire month of effort.

I like AEDM's rules, which are, basically, to create. Something. Anything. Whenever. I think I can handle that. It doesn't even have to be every day... how do you like that for relaxed? No pressure, just enjoy. So today I finished up the last of a set of four hanging stars for the Anton Art Center's "Wish Upon A Star" holiday exhibition fundraiser.

I'm a member of a year-long art and writing venture with more than 2 dozen other artists that began last month. There are several art projects to create along the way and I'm already behind. I decided that AEDM might give me the kick start to work on these projects. The story is eager to be told and the art thus far wants to take a back seat. I'm trying to honor that process and just allow it to be what it is, but I really do feel the need to get moving on the art work.

More about the Travelling Artist's Guild and that journey soon... (probably when I have some actual art to share...)

Meanwhile, here is the set of stars for the exhibition.

Peace.
