Haiku My Heart

UPDATE 8-31: My dad passed away on Monday, August 23rd. He fought with everything he had, but in the end, he was just too worn out to continue. Now healing must commence for those of us left behind. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to stop by and read my posts, and to those who have shared their hearts, too. And especially, thank you for the caring you have shown. Words will never be able to express my gratitude.

Still waters run deep.

Watching someone slowly make their way back into this world from the nebulous depths of a closed head injury reminds me of this proverb. While everything on the surface appears still, we can only guess at what is churning below, or how deeply consciousness has submerged while the body heals. The occasional ripple of response that breaks the surface gives us only a hint (and hope!), just as the calm veneer of a quiet lake or river doesn't tell of the life teeming below.

Miracles do happen. Our family has been blessed by your prayers and your healing thoughts and energies, and we are so grateful. Thank you.

Once again, the original photo was taken by my son, Philip. Thanks, Philip.

The path to haiku your heart begins on Rebecca's blog. Enjoy.

Peace to every hearth and home.
