Busy Days

Haven't posted in a couple of weeks, though I keep thinking about it.... I've been busily creating, and tend to lose all track of time in the creation process. You know the feeling?

I've been making jewelry of all kinds, including barefoot sandals (pictured above). The lovely foot model is my daughter. I'm determined to re-open my Etsy shop, so a good deal of my time has been spent taking pictures, pictures, pictures in an effort to get 3-4 decent ones for each piece. That translates into dozens of photos for each piece. Then there's the listing of each piece....

Oh, yeah. I remember. :)

It has always been the bane of creative folks that the business side of things takes up more time than the creating. There's everything to be said for making art for art's sake. But it has come time for me to send my creations further out into the world, and Etsy seems like a good place to start. I heart Etsy. It's the first place I look for nearly anything. My last foray on Etsy as seller was a bit too daunting. I was never happy with my photos. I think, though, that I might have learned a few things because the photos are perhaps a little better this time around. Or, is it possible that I've relaxed my perfectionist tendencies a bit? Nahhh... still working on that.

Here's a sneak peek. I love using my grandmother's teacups and saucers as props. They're so pretty and delicate.

And, not to be left out, Luke offered up his mad modeling skills:

The fresh peach iced tea is done, so I'm off to enjoy a glass and take MORE photos. Thank goodness for digital. More info on my Etsy space soon...

  1. I think these photos are great! I hear you about the time thing... who has enough?! I will look forward to seeing how you do. I have a lot of stuff I need to sell, some art, but lots of stuff/supplies. Not looking forward to the work either!
    Your pieces are beautiful!

  2. Thanks, Patti! It is a lot of work, I hope it's worth the effort. Really, it's easier to just give it all away (which is usually what I end up doing).

Thanks again and for stopping by. :)
