===== UPDATE =====
As of yesterday (Wednesday) morning, Craft Hope for Haiti raised over $20,000 for Doctors Without Borders. WOW. The bracelet shown above and the necklace I donated have been sold, but new items are constantly being listed, so please check back to see what's available. They are not accepting more item donations for a couple of weeks so they can get caught up (the response has been that overwhelming), but if you would like to donate an item, do check back.

Craft Hope for Haiti is an Etsy shop started by Jade Sims and Sarah Jackson to raise funds for Doctors Without Borders, for their work in Haiti. Many artists and artisans have donated a wide variety of items and sales have been brisk. As of earlier today, according to the Craft Hope blog, sales were approaching $10,000. Wow, not bad for a shop that has only been open for a few days.
When I asked Jade about accountability, she assured me that the funds are going into a dedicated account and receipts will be posted on the Craft Hope blog.
I am offering this bracelet and this necklace.
Please take a look around while you're there. So many delightful offerings. What a great way to support a dire cause.
Kudos to Jade and Sarah and their hard-working volunteers for a phenomenal job.
Hi Deb,
ReplyDeleteYou have beautiful jewelry and a beautiful heart. I came to your face book page and requested your friendship. I came to your face book page from Rings and Things post in Twitter. I love your idea about storing seed beads in plastic containers. I do them in the old fashion glass ones. My twitter id is under the name alankarshilpa.
Take care.- Dita.
Dita, nice to meet you. Thank you for finding my blog and for your very kind comments. It's always nice to meet like-minded folks. I enjoyed the tips exchange – there's always something new to learn, isn't there?
